What's the best way to spend 8 days in Greece? Two days in Athens for the Acropolis and food, three on Santorini for volcanic wine and a caldera catamaran, and three on Mykonos for a beach club day and long dinners. Take fast ferries between the islands, travel in the shoulder season, and plan on roughly €7,400 to €13,200 per person for a luxury version (as of October 2026).

This is the route our own Greece trip follows, squeezed into eight days. It balances culture, rest, food and a little adventure, and it uses the same three hotels our travelers stay in.

How Much Does This 8-Day Greece Trip Cost?

Day 1-2: Athens, Where Democracy Was Born

Day 1: Arrive, and you're met at the airport and driven to the hotel. The evening is yours. Wander the streets below the Acropolis and find a taverna table for grilled octopus and a glass of Nemea Agiorgitiko.

Day 2: Morning tour of the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and Mars Hill with a guide. Lunch at a seafood restaurant in Piraeus with views of the water. Finish the afternoon shopping in Plaka.

Day 3-5: Santorini, Wine and the Caldera

Hotel: Vedema, a Luxury Collection Resort, in Megalochori Vibe: Traditional village architecture, an infinity pool and a spa

Day 3: High-speed ferry from Athens to Santorini. Check in at Vedema and spend the rest of the day settling in by the pool.

Day 4: The morning is for the Flying Dress photoshoot, long gowns in the wind with a professional photographer. In the afternoon you board a private catamaran for a sunset sail along the caldera, with swimming stops and a barbecue served on board. This is the evening you'll remember.

Day 5: A full day in the vineyards, tasting Assyrtiko and Vinsanto at several wineries, with a four-course lunch. In the evening, a sunset cooking class and tasting at Artemis Karamolegos Winery.

Day 6-8: Mykonos, the Grand Finale

Hotel: Myconian Kyma Vibe: Sea views over Mykonos Town and the windmills, and an infinity pool

Day 6: High-speed ferry from Santorini to Mykonos. Check in, then the evening is yours. Little Venice at sunset is a short walk away.

Day 7: Beach club day. Sunbeds, chilled wine and fruit platters by the water, and nowhere else to be.

Day 8: Final breakfast and a private transfer to the airport. On our 9-day trip, this is a free day instead (with an optional sailing trip to Delos) and a multicourse dinner with wine before you fly home the next morning.
