Queenstown: The Adventure Capital Meets Five-Star Luxury

Queenstown sits on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, surrounded by the Remarkables mountain range—a name that, for once, is completely accurate.

"Queenstown is where New Zealand distills everything it does best into one extraordinary location." — National Geographic, 2024

Adventure Meets Luxury

What makes Queenstown unique is the combination: morning heli-ski, afternoon wine tasting in Gibbston Valley, evening fine dining overlooking the lake.

"No city this size anywhere in the world offers this combination of adventure activities and luxury hospitality." — Lonely Planet, 2024

Claire's Queenstown Must-Dos

Matakauri Lodge is my base—the lake and mountain views are honestly better than any Swiss hotel I've visited. Day 1: Milford Sound helicopter with glacier landing. Day 2: Gibbston Valley wine tasting (the Pinot Noir rivals Burgundy at a fraction of the price) followed by dinner at Rata (chef Josh Emett, former Gordon Ramsay protégé). Day 3: jet boat on the Shotover River, then spa at Onsen Hot Pools overlooking the canyon. Adventure and luxury aren't opposites here—they're the same thing.

Experience Queenstown with Caviar in the Air—adrenaline in the morning, Pinot Noir by evening.
